Traces of Ancients

The volcanic activity hadn't prevented the flourishing of culture here. Instead, it gave Milos's heritage special traits you won't find anywhere in Greece. Besides marble, the basaltic rocks affected the local architecture dramatically - from weathered stone blocks to smooth underground tunnels.

Sunset

Notice

It gets windy here

The hill to the north of the city provides on of the best sunset views on the island. Follow the pathway down to the amphitheatre & turn at the first intersection. Follow the trail - it will lead you to the stairs leading to the hill top.

Catacombs

Parking

These cold tunnels with low ceilings are considered to be one of the earliest Christian burials in Europe. They are carved by humans. In some places you see the religious paintings (fresco) over the volcanic rocks.
